Popular date spots for Japanese people seem to be places like a park or the sea, where couples can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Other popular activities include going on a drive, going out to see the night view, visiting a lively, crowded spot like an amusement park, a theme park or an aquarium to have fun, seeing a movie together or just spending time together relaxing at home.
On the other hand, there also seem to be some particular spots where one might decide to go to 'seal the deal', as well as lots of places that have a bit of a shady history or might be thought of as jinxed, where lots of couples end up breaking up and are therefore best avoided. For example, apparently, if a couple goes on a date to a Buddhist temple or a Shinto shrine where a female god is enshrined, the female gods become jealous of the girl and will try and split the couple up...
