These are expressions often used by fighting men and delinquent youths found in manga and anime. Rough, manly expressions including colloquial or abusive language such as 「temee」 (You punk!) and 「namen・nayo」 (Don't underestimate me!) are the norm. Phrases that express disdain or anger towards a rival, like 「~yagaru」 (damn well~!) and 「~te yaru」 (to do something bad to someone) are common. Pronunciation is similar to the Edo dialect of the samurai, with a number of euphonic changes and shortening of words to increase the force of the language, as in 「urusee」 (shut up!), or 「tten daro」 (I told you already!).
